A link lock can lift 50,000 times its own weight in silver and gold. 

Link Locks are also a great way to create a closed pendant loop and turn a charm into a pendant that can be securely worn on a chain.

The locking mechanism consists of a notch which is pushed into a small barrel. The flap is pushed down into the notch, inside the barrel, locking the link. Ensure you open link locks diagonally rather than by pulling directly apart. You will need two pairs of jewellery or fine nose pliers and experience in working with jewellery if you want to do it yourself.
