Sundial Compass - LITTLE SUNDIAL - Brass

share

Before SatNavs and Smartphones, a sundial was exactly what you needed to let you know where you were in time and space! A brass base and glass top encase this 18th century inspired Sundial Compass.  The shadow clock was a Greco-Roman invention that developed into a sundial.  Used anywhere in the world on explorations to tell the time using the sun.  No batteries required! Set the sundial in a flat, sunny spot.  The gnomon triangle will turn due north and the shadow will point to the hour.

The brass base of this antique finish small sundial can also be hand-engraved with a name, date or short message, perhaps for someone finding their way or setting off on an adventure.
