Star & Zodiac - What’s Your Sign?

What’s your sign? Is this just a funny/cringe-worthy pick-up line? Or could it be a request for true insight into your personality? Can we actually find out about others because of their star sign?

Humans have always searched for meaning. In ancient times we looked for explanations as to why the seasons changed, what caused night and day and why some people were more likely to bop us over the head with a stick than others (and how to stay away from them!).

 

We also craved insight into why we are the way we are. So, in ancient times, people began to look to the stars. But astrology still has power and meaning today. Even if you aren’t a ‘believer’ you are likely know your own star sign. And like most of us, you’ve probably delved into the traits and meanings behind that sign in order to find insight into your own personality.  So, what is your star sign? What does it mean? And who else is in your constellation?

Scorpios are passionate, assertive, determined and decisive. They will seek out the truth until they find it and are great leaders. But they also love to experience and express emotions. These are the people that love a passionate discussion but will guard your secrets whatever they are. If you know a Scorpio (or are one!) you’ll may love to fight (and love to make up!).

 

Cancers are known to be deeply intuitive, sentimental, emotional and sensitive. They focus on their family and home and are sympathetic to those people they keep close. Because they’re guided by their heart, they sometimes struggle to blend into the world. If you’re a cancer you want to be understood and cared for, but you’re also happy to give this back in return.

Pisces are among the friendliest signs – unlike fish, which in our experience, aren’t particularly  friendly. They are selfless, empathetic, always willing to help others and very social. They also have musical and artistic talents and are generous, compassionate, faithful and caring. These qualities are pretty evident in our famous Pisces below as well.

The Ram is the first sign in the Zodiac, and so Aries are always at the beginning of things (and sometimes the harbingers of things to come!). They are constantly looking for speed and competition, and always want to be the first in everything. It is Aries nature to take action, sometimes before they really think it through. If anyone will leap before they look, it’s an Aries!

Leo is a natural leader (just like the king of the jungle!). They are dramatic, creative, self-confident, dominant and extremely difficult to resist. But who would want to… self-confident and attractive, Leos are great at uniting different groups of people and leading them as one towards a shared cause. And they have a good sense of humour. 

 

We have a special place in our hearts for Sagittarius – as the Chief Giddy Aunt is among them! Sagittarius are curious, energetic and have an open mind and philosophical view of the world around them. They are also extroverted, optimistic and enthusiastic. While Chief Giddy Aunt wouldn’t describe herself as extroverted, she definitely shares many of these other characteristics, including boundless enthusiasm (for the things, people and animals she loves), a great sense of humour and intense curiosity.

Taurus are practical and well-grounded, and they always want to be surrounded by love and beauty. They are considered one of the most reliable signs of the Zodiac and will stick to their choices until they get what they want. Because Taurus is an earth sign, they have a great ability to see things from a practical perspective, and they find it easy to make money(!).

Virgo’s have a methodical approach to life. They are extremely tender and so often keep their hearts closed and plan every step of their life out to the smallest detail. They are very practical and excellent at writing and speaking and often choose careers as writers or journalists. If they can help others in the process, they feel fulfilled.

 

The Capricorn’s sign is the mythological sea-goat – a goat with the tail of a fish. Capricorns are great at facing fear, so they are able to make decisions without giving in to the monsters in our own minds and lives (important during difficult times). Often traditional and serious by nature, they are masters of self-control and can work their way to the top at work and in life as long as they learn to accept a little light and positivity.

 

Having two different personalities in one means you’ll never know just who you’ll be facing. They’re ready for fun one minute, and suddenly serious the next. Geminis are fascinated with the world, but they have constant FOMO (fear of missing out) and worry they won’t get to experience everything they want to in life. Geminis are also excellent artists, and are versatile, inquisitive, fun loving and never, ever boring.

The sign of the scales are naturally fascinated by balance, symmetry, justice and equality. So, Libras are similarly peaceful and fair. They also hate being alone but crave partnership in life and will do anything to keep the peace. Libras have a strong intellect and a keen mind, and are inspired by good books and profound conversations

Aquarians are deep thinkers and highly intellectual, and can be both shy and quiet and eccentric and energetic. They are blessed to see things from both sides, so are great problem solvers. They’re also affected by the energy around them, and often need time alone to recharge. Aquarius are visionaries – they can see what they want out of the future, even far in advance.
